Throttle and Choke Cable

Inspection

Throttle Cable

Depress and release the throttle lever

ONCE. It must operate smoothly and

return to its initial position without any

hesitation. Refer to an authorized Sea-

Doo dealer if necessary.

1. Must move freely

Choke Cable Inspection

All Models except GSX RFI and GTX

RFI

Ensure it operates smoothly and with-

out any hesitation from fully open to

fully closed. When the choke lever is

fully pulled, choke must be fully ap-

plied. Refer to an authorized Sea-Doo

dealer if necessary.

Carburetor Adjustment

All Models Except GSX RFI and GTX

RFI

Carburetor adjustment is very impor-

tant to allow good engine operation

and therefore watercraft perfor-

mance. Carburetor adjustment re-

quires technical knowledge and expe-

rience to have the correct mixture

supplied to the engine. This critical ad-

justment must be performed by an au-

thorized Sea-Doo dealer once a year or

more often if necessary.

Fuel and Oil Filters

These filters should be replaced annu-

ally by an authorized Sea-Doo dealer.

Fuel system pressurization should

be conducted at the same time.

Steering Alignment

When the handlebar is aimed in

straight ahead position, the jet pump

nozzle should be in the same direction

allowing the watercraft to run in a

straight line.

Refer to an authorized Sea-Doo dealer

if an adjustment is necessary.

Steering system should be inspected

every 50 hours by an authorized Sea-

Doo dealer.

VTS Adjustment

SPX, GSX Limited, GSX RFI and

XP Limited

Push on arrow pointing upward on

VTS button until the VTS stops. The

nozzle should be up without interfer-

ing with the venturi.

WARNING

If throttle lever does not automat-

ically return, do not operate wa-

tercraft and see your Sea-Doo

dealer.

Serious engine damage can oc-

cur with improper carburetor ad-

justment.

CAUTION

An obstructed oil filter will cause

oil starvation resulting in serious

engine damage.

WARNING

Ensure the handlebar/jet pump

nozzle operate freely from side to

side and are not stressing the

steering cable and/or bracket.
